“And as for you, brethren, do not become weary or lose heart in doing right [but continue in well-doing without weakening].” II Thessalonians 3:13 (AMPC)
Is there something in life you keep doing faithfully? You keep on paying your tithes – even when you don’t know how you will make it that month – but you love God and know He has promised to bless you? Is there a work you know God has called you to do and people turn against you, but you keep on because you know “If God be for us, who can be against us”? Romans 8:31 KJV. Is there some temptation that keeps coming against you, but you resist it in the name of Jesus – because you know every time you resist you become a stronger Christian? Is there someone you have been praying for many years and you see little results, but you keep on praying because you know God answers prayer? Are there times when you have other things to do during church time, but you keep on attending church because you know God has something special for you. Is there something in life that you keep on doing such as an exercise program or keeping on a special diet, even if you don’t always feel like it, because you know that health-wise it is good for you – and it then helps you to keep on keeping on doing what God wants?
Every day, as we do our best to please the Lord, we know: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23,24 KJV We keep on doing, saying, thinking, being what God wants us to be because we are just temporarily passing through this life on earth. Eternal life is what we are heading for. “We can’t allow ourselves to get tired of living the right way. Certainly, each of us will receive everlasting life at the proper time, if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 (GW).
It says in Revelation 3:11 (NLT), “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one will take away your crown.” Jesus is coming soon. Allow nothing, absolutely nothing turn you away from following the path of holiness, righteousness, truth, faithfulness, obedience – it would be horrible to stray from that path and miss eternity with the Lord.
God rewards every faithful servant.
